In this webinar, we'll focus on what happens to permission sets across IFS Cloud release and service updates. We'll explore what actually changes inside a permission set, why a grant shifting to a Custom access level is the only signal IFS gives you, and how to detect that before your users do. The session will also cover how to scope a realistic regression test and look at Projection Summary, a new page in IFS Cloud 26R1.
This webinar will dive into a question we have been asked twice in this series and have not yet answered properly: what happens to permission sets when an IFS Cloud release update or service update is applied. With release updates every six months and service updates every month, projections gain new actions, new projections appear granted to nobody, and deprecated ones are eventually removed. IFS provides no notification of which permission sets an update affected, and the first sign of trouble is usually a user ticket some weeks later. We'll show what actually changes inside a permission set, why a grant shifting to a Custom access level is the only signal available, and how to build the baseline that makes that signal readable. We'll walk through a four-step post-update scan, discuss where IFS's own Compare Permission Sets workflow helps and where it does not, and look at Projection Summary, a new page in IFS Cloud 26R1 that shows which permission sets and users grant a given projection. This session is ideal for IFS administrators, permissions owners, and IT leads responsible for keeping access working through the Evergreen release cycle.
